Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, self-motivated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support PreK–12 students across Minnesota public/charter school districts in a hybrid telepractice model.


This position offers the flexibility of working from home for the vast majority of the school year while maintaining connection with the school community through minimal onsite visits (no more than 3 times per academic year for initial caseload setups, triennial re-evaluations, or key district meetings).

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct Service Delivery: Conduct telepractice speech-language therapy sessions addressing articulation, language, fluency, voice, and AAC needs per student IEP goals.

  • Evaluations & Assessments: Administer virtual assessments and diagnostic tests to evaluate communication disorders, draft comprehensive evaluation reports, and determine eligibility.

  • IEP Management: Develop measurable Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, attend virtual IEP team meetings, monitor student progress, and ensure strict compliance with state and federal special education guidelines.

  • Onsite Participation: Travel to the district up to 3 times per school year for hands-on evaluations, complex IEP meetings, or district orientation as agreed upon in advance.

  • Collaboration & Communication: Consult with teachers, special education staff, administrators, and parents to support student growth and generalization of skills.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely service logs, attendance tracking, and Medicaid billing documentation as required by the district.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders.

  • Licensure:

  • Valid Minnesota license issued by the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) or the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH).

  • Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of school-based experience preferred; prior experience with teletherapy or digital IEP systems (e.g., SpEd Forms) is a strong plus.

  • Technology: Dedicated home office setup with high-speed internet, a reliable computer with a HD webcam, and a quiet, HIPAA/FERPA-compliant workspace.

Compensation & Contractor Benefits

  • 1099 Independent Contractor Status: Enjoy schedule control and competitive hourly rates for both direct and indirect service hours.

  • Hourly Pay Range: $50.00 – $55.00 per hour (commensurate with experience and district caseload size).

  • Travel Stipend: Paid flat-rate stipend for all pre-approved onsite travel (up to 3 visits per year).
