What do I need to know to contract for teletherapy services?

Hourly Rates and Flat Fees 

As the Director of Sales at Lighthouse Therapy, I’m often asked about our pricing structure. Our services are billed on an hourly rate basis, which means you only pay for the time your students receive therapy. Our hourly rates range from $90 to $130 depending on the discipline, therapist experience, and your location.

However, we also have flat-rate fees for assessments across all disciplines, including speech therapy, occupational therapy, and school psychology services. These flat rates are based on the anticipated time required to complete the assessments.

What Affects the Pricing? 

There are several factors that can impact the pricing for Lighthouse Therapy services. The region or state you’re located in plays a role, as the cost of living in areas like California tends to be higher than somewhere like Kentucky. The level of support and organization you have on the ground can also affect the price – the more prepared you are with defined caseloads and processes, the less our team has to coordinate, which can keep costs down.

Seasonality and Therapist Availability 

Another significant factor is the time of year you’re requesting services. Our hiring season runs from April through August, so requests made after October can be more challenging to fulfill. Therapist availability tends to be higher in the summer months, so prices may increase as the school year progresses.

Getting an Accurate Quote 

To get the most accurate quote for your district’s needs, I’ll need some key information from you:

• The number of students requiring services
• The specific disciplines needed (speech therapy, occupational therapy, etc.)
• The average minutes per week of service per student
• The percentage of students seen in a group setting
• Estimated number of assessments needed

Contracting and Termination 

When you decide to contract with Lighthouse Therapy, the timing of your contract signing can impact the termination period. If you sign earlier in the year, we offer a 30-day termination window. For contracts signed after August, we typically require a 90-day termination period, as we’ve likely already assigned a therapist to your school.

Remember, the sooner you can start the conversation with Lighthouse Therapy, the better. Reaching out in the spring or early summer gives us the best chance of having the right therapist ready for you when the school year begins.
