What Clinical Support is Available?
As the Director of Clinical Services at Lighthouse Therapy, I’m often asked about the support we provide to our therapists. In this post, I’ll outline the robust clinical support system we’ve put in place to ensure our team members thrive in their teletherapy roles.
Dedicated Clinical Mentors
Every new therapist at Lighthouse is paired with a discipline-specific clinical mentor. These experienced professionals are here to:
- Answer questions big and small
- Help you get started with teletherapy
- Provide a friendly face and point of contact in our remote work environment
We understand that while you may be an experienced in-person therapist, teletherapy can present new challenges. Our mentors are here to guide you through this transition.
Seamless Onboarding Process
Our HR team offers excellent support during the onboarding process. They’re available to assist with:
- Cross-licensing issues
- Any questions you might have about getting started at Lighthouse
- Ensuring a smooth transition into your new role
Clinical Coordinators: Your Bridge to Schools
Once you begin working with a school, you’ll have access to our clinical coordinators. These professionals serve as a liaison between therapists and schools, providing support by:
- Offering reminders about progress reports and school schedules
- Explaining school-specific procedures and expectations
- Providing assistance with any school-related issues that may arise
Substitute Coverage and Flexibility
Life happens, and we understand that. Whether you’re getting married, having a baby, or dealing with unexpected events, Lighthouse offers support for:
- Finding substitute coverage for your students
- Assistance with unexpected IEP meetings
- Guidance on making up missed services
We use Google Suite to facilitate communication among team members assigned to the same school, making it easier to find coverage when needed.
A Supportive Community
Despite working remotely, Lighthouse Therapy fosters a strong sense of community among our therapists. We encourage collaboration and mutual support through:
- School-specific Google Chat groups
- A culture of helping and uplifting one another
- Open communication channels with clinical leadership
At Lighthouse Therapy, we’re committed to providing comprehensive clinical support to our therapists. We believe that by supporting you, we’re ultimately supporting the students and families we serve. If you’re considering joining our team, we look forward to welcoming you into our supportive community of teletherapy professionals.
